Why blog, you ask?

I, Skarbs, HIKED the 3 highest peaks in Africa in January of 2012, all to raise money for the 3 "peak issues" in East Africa: Education, Health, and Environment. East Africa is a place close to my heart. I know the difference that love, belief, and understanding can make in this beautiful part of the world. Join with me as I REFLECT back on this amazing journey!

I made it safely off Kili!

Hey folks,

I finally got on the internet here at St. Jude, and it's a bit slower than I imagined (I don't know what I was expecting).  I'm working hard to get some photos up of some more events and things that have happened in the past month.  Most importantly, ALL 11 WOMEN MADE IT UP EACH MOUNTAIN, EVEN KILIMANJARO!  There were a few moments when as a team we didn't think everyone would make it, but we have some incredibly brave folks on the team, and of course our awesome guides and porters who helped us all complete our summit bids!

Major updates to come:
-last 3 days, including summit of Mt. Meru
-Celebration at St. Judes!
-Visit to SIC and "Chicken Project"
- ALL 7 days of Kilimanjaro
-After mountain celebration
-Smith Dedication day at Usa River/Smith Campus
- PE Class at St. Judes
-St. Judes 10th birthday celebration!!!!

Look for these to come in the next two days, hopefully with tons of pictures!
